Following the phenomenal success of our first two sold-out old skool shows, Back2Basics Kilkenny returns with Pulse!
Back behind the wheels of steel for a select run of shows in 2026, Rob Mateer (AKA DJ Pressure) brings his headline set to Set Theatre Kilkenny for the very first time—promising what could be the best club night in Kilkenny this year.
A DJ who needs little introduction, Pressure has held residencies at some of Ireland’s most legendary clubs and venues, including The Asylum, Ormonde Multi Media Centre, The Mansion House, Temple Theatre, and The Point Depot.
He has played alongside iconic acts such as SL2, N-Trance, JX, and The Prodigy, among many others. In 1995 he released his first single Pride and embarked on a nationwide tour, playing to thousands and breaking into the national charts Top 10.
Kicking off the night are Back2Basics residents TheKilo1977 and DJ Mattie B, going back-to-back with an all-vinyl old skool set.

Spinning vinyl since the 1990s, Mattie B has been delivering raw, soulful grooves from underground clubs to outdoor festival stages for over three decades.
Each performance is an invitation to move, expect warm rhythms, tribal drums, vintage basslines, and an impeccable selection of grooves.
