Kilkenny Arts Festival presents Kate Ellis, Síle Denvir, Linda Buckley & Lucia McPartlin
Sean nós singer and harpist Síle Denvir, cellist Kate Ellis, fiddle player Lucia McPartlin and composer and electronic artist Linda Buckley come together to forge something thrillingly new in this concert exploring the meeting point between tradition and experimentation.
Artist in residence Kate Ellis needs no introduction, and her three collaborators are equally accomplished. Buckley has composed acclaimed film scores and collaborated with everyone from the National Symphony Orchestra to Brìghde Chaimbeul (whose KAF commission for Crash Ensemble premiered in 2022), Denvir enjoys a stellar solo career and has toured with the Chieftains and Martin Hayes’ Common Ground Ensemble, while McPartlin is one half of violin duo Lucia and Maria, and a member of the Strung ensemble and THISISPOPBABY’s hit show WAKE.
Featuring the premiere of new work by Donnacha Dennehy for cello and electronics, this concert offers an unmissable glimpse of the birth of a new collective.
Please note: this is a fully seated show.
