Mick Flannery is one of Ireland’s most acclaimed singers and songwriters. The award-winning, double-platinum-selling artist has released seven studio albums, four of which have reached No. 1.

“Mick Flannery has a voice for the ages, a complete master of his craft,” wrote Clash Magazine, while The Sunday Times praised his ability to “conjure up exquisite storytelling.”

His 2021 album, In the Game, was a collection of duets with rising Irish artist Susan O’Neill. American Songwriter called the record a “sorrowful masterpiece.” It was nominated for the Choice Music Prize and produced two consecutive RTÉ Radio 1 Songs of the Year, “Baby Talk” and “Chain Reaction.” In the Game was also the biggest-selling independent album in Ireland in 2021.

Flannery’s 2023 album, Goodtime Charlie, was released through John Prine’s Oh Boy Records, making him the first international artist signed to the label.

Known for songs that capture the layered complexities of the human condition, Flannery brought that same depth of storytelling to the stage in 2026 with The House Must Win, a musical written by Flannery and produced by Hadestown’s Liam Robinson. The production premiered in Dublin and Cork with a completely sold-out five-week run.

The story was then expanded into an album of the same name, bringing together a wide cast of acclaimed artists, including Anaïs Mitchell, Jeffrey Martin and Lisa Hannigan. Ambitious in scale and rooted in the character-driven songwriting that has defined his career, The House Must Win marks one of Flannery’s most significant works to date.
